New Fate Dice At The Source!

The Source Comics & Games in the Twin Cities, MN, was successful in ordering packs of Evil Hat's new Fate Dice!

At the beginning of last week, I asked them to order me a set of the Atomic Robo dice, as I thought they were the handsomest of the bunch.

But The Source bought multiple sets of each type for their shelves!

I decided to get one set of each, as a way of thanking them for making the order. I am especially taken by the Centurion dice, which I had expected to take a pass on. They really look very nice!

  1. Very snazzy. They compliment Weird Adventures well. ;)

    1. Yes, I think the Centurion dice (up by the SOTC book) are the best fit, but the Dresden Dice (by Weird Adventures) works pretty well too - especially the Idol Orange!

  2. Great haul! I got all the rpg stuff but not the Banks book or the dice. Have to look into Banks (RIP) and getting some of those Fate dice.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Edchuk! I read Banks' Transition (a non-Culture late novel) about 3-4 years ago and wasn't at all impressed. I had also stalled out several times with Consider Phlebas (the first Culture novel) over the last 10-15 years.

That's all changed. Since August, I have completed Consider Phlebas (which I now consider a great SF novel), and The Player of Games (a remarkable novel), and plan to finish my third Culture novel, Use of Weapons, this weekend.

I read the first three Cutture novels straight through since early August, which is pretty remarkable for me! I almost never read more than one novel in a row by someone. But I have to say, I can't wait to start the next (non-Culture) novel, Against A Dark Background sometime next week!

  3. Nice. We'll have to pick-up a set...now that you've got us seriously looking into FATE/Diaspora...maybe cool dice might help a grumpy old timer make the transition...
