I read Banks' ...Thanks for stopping by, Edchuk! I read Banks' Transition (a non-Culture late novel) about 3-4 years ago and wasn't at all impressed. I had also stalled out several times with Consider Phlebas (the first Culture novel) over the last 10-15 years. <br /><br />That's all changed. Since August, I have completed Consider Phlebas (which I now consider a great SF novel), and The Player of Games (a remarkable novel), and plan to finish my third Culture novel, Use of Weapons, this weekend. <br /><br />I read the first three Cutture novels straight through since early August, which is pretty remarkable for me! I almost never read more than one novel in a row by someone.
